Don’t you hate it when you’re in the mood to jam but there’s no one around? Or when you just learned a new guitar scale but you have no way of applying it? Well this is an essential practicing tool I use all the time. It is called the Groove Builder and it’s on wholenote.com.
The Groove Builder allows you to set a backing track so you can jam over it. It has a lot of great settings and it is one of the better free groove building tools out there. It is a pretty easy interface to figure out. The only thing that I should point out is that to set the tempo and the amount of times the chord progression should loop, look to the very bottom of the screen.
So what are you still doing here? Start grooving with the Groove Builder now! (It is the 3rd menu item in from the left).
Very interesting. I wish it came with a drum set!
Firefox reported an illegal operation when trying to use it, but I get the general idea of how it works. Maybe if it had a drum set I would take more time into fixing the problem
Nice post.
That is an odd error. I’m sure it’s a bug. It does have a drum beat. One of the cool things is u can controll the vollume of the other instruments. So you can turn off guitar and just jam with bass and drums. I set the beat to Jazz and practice II, V I progressions like this and it helps train my ears to hear the changes with just a bass in the background and no guitar. It’s a big help!
