Chord Finder

Here is a great resource for all guitar players. Not sure what chord you are playing? Well just place you fingering on this virtual fretboard by clicking the fret and string where your fingers are and it will tell you all the possible names for the chord you are playing. You can also hit the play button to hear the chord. This is a really great guitar chord tool. Check it out!
It's a great little free online guitar chord finder, for stringers at pretty much any level.
Very cool! I wish the sound quality was a little better, but minor details, right? =)
The point is that it’s a great way to build chords, which is an excellent exercise for writing new music.
Thanks for sharing this,
Kyle
i couldnt see any..
Mow i got it, maybe my conn is to slow :p
Look I can’r read a lick trying to learn. this is the best tool I’ve seen to date .i play some weird inversions by ear and this is the only site that names every chord i play.
Way to go thank you so very much
Is there a way to change the X to an O to un-mute a string?
I want to find the name for the chord – C,F#,G,D,E
Hank, you can click above the first fret to get an open string.
And you have a C flat5 add9.
I have made something similar to this. It’s mainly to figure out the name of the notes on the fretboard, but you can also use it to find the written notation – to transcribe and read chords and melodies.
If you care to check it out you will find it here :

fuck that shit, always trying to get a hand on my wallet assholes
nice one but id love to know how to use it .
That chord you have put up as C,F#G,D,E is simply thus:
C – Root
E – 3rd
G – 5th
D – 9th (its an added 9th because in this particular case there is no 7th to make it a dominant 9th)
F# – #11
so in actual fact it could well be Cadd9#11
It is definitely not a C flat 5 add9 because the 5th is not being flattened, you already have a G note in the chord the F# would act as an extension note. ask yourself this? What is a flattened 5th in this chord? Its the G being flattened to the F# but as I point out, there is already a G and an F# in the whole chord the F# acts as an extension, hence #11, think of the extensions 9, 11 & 13 as 2, 4, and 6 in the scale C D E F G A B
1 2 3 4 5 6 7
9 11 13
Hope this helps. If you need any more assistance with composition please feel free to email me. mike@mikecullen.co.uk

Hey, is anyone working on this?
We want our chord finder back – please! It was such a nice tool!
Hi, i read your blog from time to time and i own a similar one and i was just curious if you get a lot of spam comments? If so how do you protect against it, any plugin or anything you can suggest? I get so much lately it’s driving me insane so any help is very much appreciated.
