A dim7 and m7b5 are the same thing:

As the article explained, the tones of a dim7 chord are 1, b3, b5, b7.
So Bdim7 = B D F A.

The tones of a min7 chord are 1, b3, 5, b7. If you flat the 5, you have a dim7:

Bm7 = B D F# A
Bm7b5 = B D F A

The F# is the 5th degree of the scale. F natural is a b5 (flat 5).

Great article! The only thing I would add, even thought it is certainly implied in your article, is to take it seriously, go to practice prepared to work! And don't fool around, make jokes etc too much.

I used to play in a band with a sax player who always had a joke or (what he thought was) something funny to add to absolutely everything. It drove me crazy because the constant interruption prevented the band from actually practicing to our maximum ability.

Don't waste my time and I won't waste yours!

If you only find something in few places on the internet, its probably fake. The best ideas are the ones many people have, and are willing to give to others. For this reason, they are copied and pasted all over the internet. The best things you can learn are very rarely exclusive "secret tricks", they are usually basic guidelines that almost everyone knows just because they work. You walk the same way as everyone else because it works best. You breathe, eat, sleep, and drink the same way as everyone else simply because it works. So when someone tells you something you already know, don't criticize them, they are simply reaffirming the correctness of it.

I have a question.. you state that a B half-diminished chord is written "Bm7b5" but how do you get to that? I get the "Bm7b" which is a B minor 7th down half a step (which would be the B half diminished), but where is the "5" at the end coming from?
